Veteran's Day Lyrics 4

Words & Music By: Red Johnson
Pub: 2000 Count Music BMI

This is another example of what can happen in the studio. I've been kicking this song around for over 30 years. I always liked the idea but could never get it to work. I needed another song and I had an hour to kill before I went into the studio, so I sat down with it.It kind of worked so I sang it for the musicians, and they heard it as Texas swing, and this is what happened. I never thought I'd write a song about a picture.

Cho:
There's a brand new picture on your table
Next to yours (big as life) for every one to see
And that photograph, You're so proudly showing
Is just an old one I had around of me

1. I never thought too much of that old picture
And often thought of throwing it away
Now I'm standing here in dis-belief and wonder
At where that old picture sets today

2. No one has ever asked me for my picture
And this one I didn't want you to see
Now you tell me it's your favorite possession
And I'm really glad you think it looks like me

3. So many times I looked at that old picture
As it lay in my dresser drawer at home
And wondered why someone would ever want it
But that was before you came along

Words and Musid By: Red Johnson
Pub:1997 Count Music BMI

This is a song I've used on earlier recordings, and it seems to keep coming back to the top, so I re-recorded for this album. I've always believed this is the only way a marriage can work, You've got to get away now and then.

Cho:
When the closing of the door is behind us
And pressures of survival leave our mind
Then peace and tranquility will find us
As we come together for our Quiet Time

Tag:
You make sure we always have our Quiet Time
Everyone must have a place to, get away
Where problems of the day, can stay behind
As we snuggle close, the world becomes O K

As you and I enjoy our Quiet Time
Thank God, we have TV, and childrens cartoons
Sesame Street, with numbers, fun and rhyme
Then we can pick our love, out of the ruins
Regain our sanity, with our Quiet Time

I can't believe this change in my, point of view
What a little love does for this, heart of mine
And the way I feel I owe it all to you
You find a way to have our, Quiet Time
